When no text field is active, you can use the arrow keys to nudge selected icons to the positions you want. If the grid is on, a selected icon will move one grid position each time you press an arrow key. If the grid is off, a selected icon will move one screen pixel each time you press an arrow key. The direction of the movement is determined by the choice of arrow key in the obvious way.
